The facelift procedure, also known as a rhytidectomy, is helpful in minimizing different signs of skin aging including facial wrinkles and fine lines. The ultimate objective of a facelift procedure is to enhance the overall look of your face and jawline.
People opt for a traditional facelift surgery with the goal of reversing the undesirable effects of aging, stress, and exposure to various environmental elements such as the sun and wind. It is possible to combine a traditional facelift with various other cosmetic treatments such as a cheek augmentation, rhinoplasty, lip augmentation, and a blepharoplasty.
What to Expect
In a traditional facelift, your surgeon will make an incision in your hairline and take it down around your ear and lower scalp. The process may involve sculpting or redistribution of fat from the jowls, neck, and face.
Repositioning the underlying tissue and lifting the deep muscles commonly take place. Your surgeon will work to re-drape the skin over the newly uplifted contours while trimming away the excess skin.
Sometimes, another incision, right below the chin, might be needed for further improvement of a wrinkled neck. Skin adhesives or sutures are used to close the incisions in a traditional facelift procedure. The result is a more aesthetically appealing and rejuvenated facial structure.
General anesthesia or intravenous sedation is typically administered in a traditional facelift surgery.
The best candidates for a traditional facelift are those who have realistic goals and expectations. They are prepared to follow the instructions given by their cosmetic surgeon, both pre and post operation. A detailed consultation with your doctor can help you understand whether or not you are a suitable candidate for a traditional facelift surgery.
There are several critical traits that are shared by good candidates for this particular surgery. These traits include decent skin elasticity (flexible and naturally supple skin), a strong bone structure, loose facial skin (or neck skin) and good general health.
The majority of the patients who undergo a traditional facelift are in the age group of 40-70 years, but this does not mean that people who have crossed 70 years of age cannot get a facelift surgery for themselves.
A consultation with a qualified and experienced plastic surgeon will help in evaluating each individual’s skin condition and texture and help in making a judgment regarding candidacy.
Recovery and Results
Your plastic surgeon may place a bandage around your face to reduce bruising and swelling after the surgery is completed. Temporary thin tubes might also be used to drain out any extra fluid or blood that gets collected beneath the skin.
You can prolong the youthful and rejuvenated appearance of your face after a facelift surgery by protecting it from the sun and following a healthy lifestyle (minimal alcohol consumption, no smoking, exercise, nutritious diet).
The visible results of a traditional facelift procedure begin to appear as the bruising and swelling subside. You will not only be able to achieve a more rested and youthful appearance, but will also feel more self-assured and confident.

Hyperpigmentation is a common skin problem that a lot of people suffer from, especially those residing in regions that have strong sunlight throughout the year. Hyperpigmentation can cause patches of darker skin to appear next to the normal surrounding skin. The condition doesn’t signify a serious health issue, but it can be an unsettling sight for some.
Having dark patches of skin on your body can be embarrassing. It can lead to insecure feelings about your body image and can decrease your confidence. You might even find yourself avoiding social interactions because of your condition. Hyperpigmentation isn’t an easy condition to treat with over-the-counter products. It requires expert help.
If you’re unhappy with dark spots on your skin, a plastic surgeon can help you eliminate them for good with the VI Peel.
What Is a VI Peel?
The VI Peel is a medical chemical peel formula that has been developed for lightening skin, reducing age-related fine lines (e.g. crow’s feet), and repairing sun damage. It works well to restore your skin’s original color and texture.
The VI Peel can:
• Help treat unevenly pigmented skin
• Minimize the appearance of aging spots
• Make your skin look youthful and refreshed
• Help smooth out the rough texture of your skin
• Brighten up extremely stubborn discolored areas
• Help clear acne and remove/reduce acne scars
• Encourage collagen production, causing your skin to feel and look firmer
This treatment protocol can be used in conjunction with other VI dermatological products for extending and enhancing results. It is an easy and pain-free procedure.
Why Get the VI Peel?
The VI Peel is formulated for all types of skins. While it might take multiple sessions for other skin-rejuvenation techniques to provide the results you desire, the VI Peel may take a single session to make a significant improvement in skin tone. The procedure is also relatively less costly than other treatments and causes only minimal discomfort.
The VI Peel is made with a unique combination of ingredients and offers brilliant results without requiring any preparation. Unlike other peels and skin treatments, the VI Peel does not require intravenous or oral sedation for avoiding pain. It produces dramatic results quickly and with little downtime.
In a single sitting, the VI Peel is able to achieve noticeable repair while adding a beautiful, healthy glow to your skin. Multiple applications may be required to treat certain conditions like pore enlargement, hyperpigmentation, and acne scars.
The VI Peel is a painless and restorative treatment for damaged skin and helps prevent aging and other problems caused by excessive exposure to the sun.
After the Peel
Immediately after the VI Peel procedure, your skin might appear red or yellow. This is a normal occurrence and will subside quickly. Your skin may begin to flake three days after the procedure, and this may be first noticeable around your mouth area. You can solve this by adding moisturizer to your daily skincare routine.

BREAST IMPLANTS INLAND EMPIRE – BREAST AUGMENTATION RIVERSIDE
For many women, a large and shapely bustline is often seen as a defining characteristic of femininity. However, due to various reasons, such as pregnancy, genetics, or aging, numerous individuals have small, asymmetrical, and/or sagging breasts. At the practice of Troy J. Andreasen, M.D. in the Inland Empire, breast implants surgery is a frequently requested procedure. Along with a caring and qualified staff, our plastic surgeon welcomes you to his practice for breast augmentation (“augmentation mammaplasty”).
BREAST IMPLANT INFORMATION
During a visit with Dr. Andreasen, the various options regarding breast augmentation will be discussed. Some of these include breast implant filling and texture. The size of the implants is highly dependent on the results you would like to , which will be discussed and determined during a consultation.
Dr. Andreasen offers patients two types of breast implants: saline and silicone gel. Based on your anatomy and desired outcome, our breast surgery specialist will recommend the most appropriate choice. Both saline and silicone implants come in either smooth or textured shells. Saline implants are either expandable or pre-filled with a fixed volume of a sterile saltwater solution, whereas silicone breast implants are already filled with a cohesive gel.
Incisions for saline implants can be placed in the crease under the breast, around the areola (nipple), in the armpit, or in the belly button (“transumbilical incision” or “TUBA”). However, due to silicone implants being pre-filled, they can only be inserted through the breast crease and nipple incision. In addition to these choices, you and Dr. Andreasen will also discuss the implant placement – above or beneath the breast muscle – during your appointment.
If you would like to see examples of patient results, be sure to view breast implants before and after pictures. We also provide patient testimonials that offer further insight to the care given at our Riverside breast implants specialist’s practice.
