Your Bra Fat Roll Removal Journey
Your Goals
Though small, the mere presence of a roll peeking over the bra is enough to bother many women. This unwanted fat forms for many reasons, yet it does not always respond to diet and exercise the way that it should. If this is damaging your confidence, bra fat roll removal allows you to gain a flat, smooth bra line and fight against those emotions.
Your Consultation
Dr. Andreasen is a leading breast and body surgeon in the Inland Empire with years of experience. The consultation is a vital aspect of your surgery. During this consultation, Dr. Andreasen will examine the extent of your bra fat roll to determine the proper course of action and the technique that will give you optimal results.
Your Look
Many women turn to bra fat roll removal because they are displeased with the way this unwanted roll shows through clothing. After this procedure, women can feel free to wear any clothing they want with no worry that their pesky roll will show. This procedure is performed in one of two ways: through liposuction alone or liposuction combined with skin excision.
Bra Fat Roll Removal Options
Liposuction
For patients with a lesser degree of fat along the bra band and good skin elasticity, liposuction alone is performed to smooth the patient’s back and sides of the breasts. With this technique, tumescent fluid is injected into the bra fat roll, and a liposuction cannula is inserted through small incisions to remove the excess fatty tissue.
Liposuction With Skin Excision
For patients with a more significant amount of bra fat, or for those with less skin elasticity, skin excision may be necessary. When a larger amount of fat is removed and the underlying skin doesn’t have adequate elasticity, it is possible for the skin to begin to sag. In such cases, the skin must be surgically removed so that your back and sides will be smooth and flat.
Concerns
Recovery
Bruising and swelling are to be expected following your surgery. You will be wrapped in a compression garment immediately after the procedure, which will be worn throughout the duration of your recovery. Most patients require one to two weeks off of work, which should be spent resting and not exerting yourself. You can return to your normal exercise routine (including chest exercises) after one month, and the majority of the swelling will dissipate after six weeks.
Scars
Scarring from bra fat roll removal is minimal, but as with any surgical procedure, very possible. The extent of your scarring will depend on the techniques used during your procedure. If liposuction is performed alone, the scars will be very small. If skin must be excised as well, the scarring may be more extensive. Dr. Andreasen does his best to make scarring as minimal as possible, and all scars will fade with time.
Cost
The cost of your procedure will depend on the size of your bra fat roll and what technique Dr. Andreasen uses during the procedure. Additional cost factors include anesthesia fees, surgeon’s fees, and facility fees. Dr. Andreasen will provide you with a cost estimate during your consultation.
Pain
General anesthesia is used to ensure that your bra fat roll removal is a painless process. Minor discomfort is not uncommon immediately after the procedure. Oral pain medication is prescribed to minimize this discomfort.
